| | Qin ai Chou,
The million spare men should go to China for woman. There about 20 million "spare" women in China looking for western husband. Most are very well educated, good cooks (naturally) and delightful innocent of all western vices.

| | Qin ai Chou,
Yes, it happens everyday somewhere to many people. Western ideas of love and personal decision do not apply to most people. Marriage is arranged. I cannot say I support this but its often as good a way as western idea.
Love often comes from arranged marriage, if not we could not survive.

| | Where does the phrase 'pot luck' come from?
Is it a snooker term?
Does it come from the 40's when there was rationing and has something to do with the stock pot or something?
Tell you what, I will make my mission for the day to find out....report back later.... |

| | "To take pot luck is to be offered a choice from what's available and not from what you might wish. It goes back to the days when a cooking pot was always on the fire. An unexpected guest was welcome to eat but only from what was on offer in the pot. To take a pot shot has the same basis - to shoot at game in general in order to get something for the pot rather shooting at a specific type of animal."
So there you are, dear. |
