| | In this enlightened age, where everyone seems to say they like a person for who they are, etc..
..Is the myth that people don't make passes to people wearing glasses still a valid one ??
What are the Perceptions of people who wear spectacles ??
Are people wearing glasses treated Better or Worse ?? Is it a Turn On or a Turn Off ??

| | Ah good question. I kind of feel like us guys with glasses get a less positive reaction, but it depends, some girls seem to have a 'type' that involves glasses. But sometimes eg in a club you do feel you stick out as the only guy there wearing them.
As for girls, well some can certainly manage to look very foxy in them.... |

| | Hi balderdash, a big welcome to snoglondon to you!
Guess I wouldn't really know about people's reactions as I don't wear them...but surely it's a little old fashioned to judge someone on that basis? I can't say it's a question raised by any of my mates, so maybe it's not really an issue these days. One of my foxy snoglondon friends wears them and she looks just as good with or without. I can't say it's ever been an issue for me. I don't even notice if someone wears them all the time. |

| | I hope you were talking about me Em :)
Ever since I got this pair, I have had more male attention as I stand out a bit. I am not bothered about wearing them but I know that some people don`t like wearing glasses.
It depends on a frame, I think glasses can make you both, loook better and worse so I guess choose wisely. |

| | | But of course! Marilyn Monroe looked fab in glasses. I guess if the wearer is a stunner, it doesn't make any difference, eh? ;) |

| | it has been statistically and scientifically shown that men are more attracted to short sighted women than others...something to do with the forward lean and stare such women have.

| | | That must explain my pulling prowess. I have perfect vision, until a few bevies, then I tend to lean forward and stare. And people say drinking is bad for you. Hic. |

| | Strange one. Reckon guys dont really care either way.
If anything they would more likely go for a girl with glasses which instantly make her standout. For one she looks more intellectual... and then she actually is wearing glasses and doesnt give a flying %^$& what other people think rather than competing with the hoardes of cloned girls out there wearing the same thing. Sadly many guys are the same with out shitty buy it cool off the mass produced rack... sign of the times I guess.

What about coloured contacts... always thought it a bad look... kinda like I need to change myself or hey look at me I am so cool and will now look at you back with enough bodylanguage to convey with attitude- Hey whatya looking at never seen orange/mirrored.cat eyes before? |

| | I tried to read spectaclesgate but couldn't - maybe I need glasses!!!!
I think that most people just find the person attractive or not - but then who would want to date someone who is that shallow that they wouldn't go out with someone because they wear glasses!!! However, do think that the type of glasses that people wear makes a huge difference. It the same with sunglasses - some pairs I look good in others I look like a right bone head - and clothes, in some I think I look good, in others woooow - nada -- like the birthday suit for example!!!!! |

Hi there,
We're Status Quo, and when we're "rocking all over the world", there's nothing more we like, like la-la-la like (here we gooo) than a fabulous lady in spectacles.
I'm a "broken man" if I don't see a "blue eyed lady" in glasses. If I'm sat "in my chair" and you pass by in glasses I'll be "creeping up on you". If you don't wear glasses "don't waste my time".
If you want to go to Vision Express don't let me "hold you back" I'll even pay for "whatever you want"
I must dash, I'm "in the army now" and they have turned me into a bit of a "wanderer".
Rick and the gang. |

| | niiiice, status quo.
i wear glasses and as a consequence, i don't really get that many people paying me compliments...i think. Not sure though. If i didn't have the glasses i coulnd't be able to see!!!
Seriously though, i think it also depends on the glasses. If they suit your face and make you look a whole lot better with them on, then of course you're gonna get compliments! |
